Support Group Meeting
While we feel that the best advice will come from your own surgeon and staff, some Lap-Band patients benefit from sharing their weight loss experience with others. Those patients are encouraged to participate with a support group.
Sponsored by Mercy Hospital, a bariatric support group meets the last Wednesday of each month in the Sicard Education Center on the first floor of the Mercy Medical Building, 7001 Rogers Avenue. Two sessions are offered—one at 8:30 a.m. and one at 6:30 p.m. An informative program is part of each meeting featuring such topics as meal planning, exercise, supplements, and lifestyle changes. For further information, contact Shirley Bearden, (479) 314-2561 or email@example.com.
Some patients also find it beneficial to register for “mylapbandjourney” to receive personalized web-based support pre and post-operatively at lapband.com.
Scheduling an Appointment
Prior to scheduling an office appointment with one of our Lap-Band surgeons, it is necessary that you complete a simple form for insurance verification regarding benefits for the Lap-Band procedure. There is no cost or obligation for this service. A member of our staff will contact you in 5-8 working days to discuss your insurance coverage and financing options, if applicable. An appointment may be scheduled at that time.
Lap-Band Coordinator To speak with our Lap-Band Coordinator, Traci Hayes, call (479) 274-3215 (800-333-1305, ext. 3215) or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Gastric Bypass Surgery
For some patients, Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass Surgery is a better alternative than Lap-Band for long-term weight loss. Our three Bariatric Surgeons have been performing Roux-en-Y for several years and are well-trained to help you choose the bariatric procedure that is right for you.
Patients considering Roux-en-Y are asked to print and complete a Patient History Form and bring it to your surgical consultation.
